Greetings from the Scottish Rite Speech and Language Clinic! It is hard to believe that the winter season is drawing to a close and the spring season is right around the corner! Chrissy, Lisa, and I have been keeping busy offering speech and language services to the children and families of Maryland!

This semester we would like to welcome Sha’laina Sample, a Brockman Fellow, who has been working under the supervision of Chrissy Wandishin. It is a pleasure to have her here with us at the clinic and we thank her for her hard work and dedication to our clinic!

As always, we welcome any students studying in the field of speech and language pathology who would be interested in visiting our clinic. We have had many students from Towson University, Loyola College, and Maalot Baltimore come to observe a portion of our work day in order to get a better sense of what we do as speech and language pathologists.

On April 15 and 16, the 2010 Rite Care Conference will be taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Chrissy, Lisa, and I are fortunate to have the opportunity to attend this year. We are looking forward to bringing back with us valuable information current to our field so that we may better serve the children of our clinic!

We would like to extend a special welcome to our new Deputy of The Supreme Council, Mr. Marlin Mills and to his wife, Mrs. Brenda Mills. We couldn’t be happier to have them representing the Scottish Rite of Baltimore and look forward to working with them both in the future! Additionally, we would like to offer a special thank you for the new computers and printers for each of our offices generously provided to us and assembled by the Scottish Rite of Baltimore, the Scottish Rite Woman’s Club, Mr. and Mrs. Mills, P.J. Piccone, and Ralph Olinger. These upgrades were much needed and have made for a smoother, more efficient start to 2010! We cannot thank you all enough for your efforts in making this possible for our clinic!

In closing, we’d like to remind you all to come visit us here at the clinic. We always enjoy having visitors and welcome you to stop down any time! Thank you all for your continued support and best wishes for a happy and healthy spring season!
