MESSAGE FROM THE SIDELINE

Personal Representative's Message

It has been my honor and pleasure to be "on the sidelines" here in the Frederick Scottish Rite Bodies for the past five years. As a matter of fact, it has been the highest honor of my Masonic career to be your Personal Representative, and it has been my greatest pleasure to see the leaders emerge from the ranks throughout those five wonderful years.

It has been truly remarkable to see the manner in which the older long-time members have stayed with the Valley of Frederick activities and supported those who have assumed the new leadership roles over the years. There is no greater service than to help those who follow to be better leaders and to serve those who serve in the leadership positions in our Lodge of Perfection and the Chapter of Rose Croix.

This is why our Frederick Scottish Rite Bodies have run so smoothly for so many years. It is also why I will be proud to step down as your Personal Representative, and to help my successor and your new officers over the next year prior to Debbie's and my planned move to Williamsburg at the end of the year.

This is a great time in the life of our Lodge and Chapter with new, very capable officers assuming the Leadership. The Sovereign Grand Inspector General, Dr. Hans R. Wilhelmsen, 33° will be here for the officer's installation and at that time will appoint Frank Fisher as your new Personal Representative. I pledge my support to Frank and the other officers, and I am sure all Scottish Rite members and past presiding officers will continue to offer the help that makes our Valley so successful.

Thank you for making this honor very pleasurable to me and keep up the good work.

For those Brethren who are receiving this newsletter, but belong to other .valleys, you are always welcome here in Frederick to any of our meetings, dinners and any other function we are planning. And don't forget about the breakfast meeting on the 1st Thursday of the month at Barbara Fritchie's restaurant.

This year, here in Frederick, we will be putting new emphasis on our Diplomat Program. This is so that we can get our message out to Masons and to get new members .into our part of the Fraternity. The message we have to get out is .about what a wonderful organization this is. In seeking new members, we will be appointing diplomats to all the local Lodges.

Arthur D Sellers, 33º, Personal Representative
